What would Jesus do in a time like this? He would support the underdog, the common people. He would fight with us against the censorship, the attack on life and the sacred union between a man and a woman. He would fight against the fear-mongering in the media. He would urge us not to blindly react to whatever awful events we’re shown. He would fight division and help us unite again as a people.
He would be totally against cancel culture. He would rally us to celebrate our commonality, not hate our neighbors because they wave a flag that you personally don’t like. This isn’t about you folks! That is the great blunder of this era; complete and utter individualism at all cost. And guess what, it’s costing us a lot. I would even argue it’s costing our beautiful America it’s soul.
There is never going to be a better time than right now.
Right now you have the power to make a different choice, or proceed with a different reaction action. And this choice will begin to disrupt the habitual and negative patterns in your life.
I am a smoking fiend and a professional procrastinator. I make my own smoking blends with hemp and a revolving combination of smokable herbs like mullein and lavender. Then obviously I roll my own cigarettes. This can take more time than I care to admit. And if I had a dollar for every time I decided to “Go roll one” instead of whatever task I need to do I’d be a wealthy woman. But this is not wealth or health. It is a habitual, detrimental choice that I make over and over again.
Nothing changes if nothing changes.
I invite you to identify your habitual choices and see if you can mix it up and start to break free of your negative patterns.
I have become my father. Quite figuratively. I spend nearly all of my time out of doors. He was always on his porch. Sitting on a bench carved by his deceased best friend. There he would sip his coffee and listen to the local rock n’ roll radio station. Or be listing to the Beatles, The White Album for the 1008th time and singing along. Come noon a satisfying crack, busting open the sweet bliss of the goddess of hops. And he would sip and sing, sip and read the newspaper, sip and pet his dogs, and sip and stare off into the forest, his eyes engaged in a projector reel of his own life somewhere in space between the trees. Many deep sighs came from that bench, and shaking heads of disbelief. He chooses to stay in the forest. Away from the world he no longer understands. I have be come my father.
There is a reality, a frequency, a perspective, a belief, and a promise waiting just underneath your subconscious. Heaven on Earth. We already live in the Garden.
But we’ve forgotten that the Creator already gave us everything we need.
This might sound fantastical, but it’s true: the return of the Christ is waiting for you, and me, all of us. The Kingdom of Heaven is already here on Earth, but we don’t allow it to become. We don’t allow Christ to come. All will only come to pass once we have prepared the way.
The Devil is in the details.
There is a great bamboozle, a giant wool woven from farmed, steroid pumped, hormone juiced lambs, dyed in Technicolor pixels being shoved in front of all of our eyes. Look here! You could have this! Look there! Wow, I could have that?! How much money do I need so I can have that?
Materialism has become a giant Hydra blocking the pure, golden love and light of God. You chop off one head and two more grow back, more advanced and fantastic than the last. There is no weapon that can kill it. The only thing you can do is turn your back on the Beast and walk away. Walk out of the cities and into the Wilderness where God’s Good Green Earth is waiting for you. Everything you need is already there. I know you can’t see it from where you are standing, but I promise you it is there.
I know, because I walked out and found it a year ago. The peace and the vibrancy and the beauty and the rythym and the natural magic is all here waiting for you.
Stop watching TV. Stop buying things to entertain and sooth yourself because your soul feels empty. Save your money so that you can walk out on Consumer Slavery. The true slavery that we are all born into. Walk out on our toxic culture and breathe the free air of the country, of eagles soaring and magnificent sunsets, fresh corn and the chirping of a hundred birds, the life-nourishing beauty of the forest. The bounty of the natural world. It’s all waiting for you. A life of blessed simplicity and goodness, costing only the unsatisfying life you’re living now.
Ask me how and I will guide you. I say to you truly, the Kingdom can only come once we have made the space in our hearts and minds and daily routines for it to come. Heaven on Earth is waiting on you.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Thank you Einstein.
The definition of madness is having a good time when any respectable person would not be. Or that’s how I experience it.
The world has become entirely too serious.
Joy killing serious.
Dream stomping serious.
Victimizingly serious.
Despairingly serious.
We keep forgetting that the Buddha is laughing. That life is innocent and beautiful, bursting with sacred silliness and good-natured irony. There is so much more potential for the human collective experience. The way we practice life is similar to taking a ball of clay and making nothing but squares, even though the clay could become absolutely anything.
We don’t value the infinite possibility of clay. Just like we don’t value the infinite possibilities of the collective human experience and social structure.
We have the power of creation. Anything we can imagine we can create. AND IT IS IN THIS WAY THAT WE WERE CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF OUR MAKER.
And we just don’t get it. Over and over we choose to create a life of self-slavery. I just don’t understand. I don’t understand why we wake up every morning and CHOOSE to keep participating in a world that kills our spirit. There are literally an uncountable number of different decisions we could make every moment. But yet we choose to continue to make the same lame decisions. Continue to accept the unimaginative, subjugating collective narrative.
WAKE UP! You can be anything, you can do anything, you have control of your reality! WAKE UP! Make daring, life expanding decisions. Look death and disease and corruption and discrimination and totalitarianism in the face and laugh. THEY HAVE NO POWER OVER YOU WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT.
Do you remember the moment in Labyrinth? The Goblin King in his matter warping kingdom (thank you David Bowie!) seemingly has one the day and there is no way out. He says, “I ask for so little. Just let me rule you, and you can have everything that you want. Just fear me, love me. Do as I say and I will be your slave.” And in that moment Sarah realizes the true nature of reality and says, “You have no power over me.” And with that one statement, with that one realization, that one recognition of her sovereign God-given Soul, the Goblin Kings entire kingdom dissolves utterly for her. For she has seen the truth. No one can rule you without your permission. Without your acquiescence, WITHOUT YOUR FEAR.
The media is the fear factory manufacturing your consent, showings all the darkness over and over and over again. It is an old game invented by lost dictators. That we still play it is utterly absurd. STOP WATCHING, STOP BELIEVING. TUNE OUT THE GOBLIN KING, SEE THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN, TURN OFF YOUR TV, DON’T READ THE HEADLINES. STOP PARTICIPATING AND RENDER THEM POWERLESS. ONLY THEN CAN HUMANITY CREATE A NEW STORY AND REALITY.
Do your part. STOP participating in fear culture. Follow your own instincts and gut feelings and dreams and hopes. There is nothing but mirages in your way. The path is clear, and only painted with a scary optical illusion to keep you from daring to follow your own path. It doesn’t matter where you go, it matters who you are along the way.
GOD WANTED SO MUCH MORE FOR US THAN THIS. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO MAKE OUR FATHER PROUD? WHY CAN’T WE BELIEVE IN OURSELVES THE WAY HE BELIEVES IN US?
BECOME MORE. BECOME FREE. BECOME DIVINE.
I pray for all of us to be able to create a new way together, to imagine and embrace and pursue a new reality for humanity.
It is only when you’ve seen the deepest, most despairing darkness that you can begin to imagine the light.
